    JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

WHAT IS JEE?


JEE is an all India common engineering entrance examination of objective pattern which is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges and courses all over the country. 2013 JEE was divided into two phases JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced. JEE-Main exam is for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Centrally funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). Only the students selected in JEE-Main are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced. The top 2,20,000 candidates (from all categories) based on their performance in JEE-Main will qualify to appear in JEE-Advanced exam.


EXAM PATTERN

    1. JEE MAIN

Paper 1 : Engineering Entrance Exam for B.E./B. Tech


• The subjects are physics, chemistry, maths with equal weightage on each subject.
• The test will be conducted in online or offline mode.
• Duration 3 hours. Maximum marks 360.
• It consists of 3 sections consisting of physics, chemistry, maths having 30 questions in each part with equal
  weightage. Therefore Sec A,B,C each contains 90 questions.
• 4 marks for correct answer and 1/4th marks will be deducted for incorrect answer.

Paper 2 : Architecture Entrance Exam for B. Arch./B. Planning


• It consists of three parts, Objective type questions for Part I, Part II and drawing aptitude on Part III.
• The test will be conducted in offline mode.
• Part I consists of 50 questions, Part II consists of 30 questions, Part III consists of 2 questions carrying 70 marks.
• Duration 3 hours. Maximum marks 360.
• 4 marks for correct answer and 1/4th marks will be deducted for incorrect answer.

    2. JEE ADVANCED

Paper 1 : Engineering Entrance Exam for B.E./B. Tech


• It consists of physics, chemistry, maths with three sections A,B,C. Each section consists of multiple choice with
  single and multiple correct answer and match the following.
• The exam is conducted in offline mode with Optical Response Sheet (ORS).
• Duration 3 hours. Maximum mark 264.
• For every correct response 4 marks awarded for multiple choice with single and multiple correct answer and 2
  marks for match the following.
• For every incorrect response 2 marks is deducted for multiple choice with multiple correct answer and 1 mark is
  deducted for match the following.

Paper 2 : Architecture Entrance Exam for B. Arch./B. Planning


• It consists of physics, chemistry, maths with three sections A,B,C. Each section consists of multiple choice with
  single and multiple correct answer and paragraph questions.
• The exam is conducted in offline mode with Optical Response Sheet (ORS).
• Duration 3 hours. Maximum mark 240.
• 4 marks for correct answer and 1/4th marks will be deducted for incorrect answer.
